The Deputy Governor of Cross River State His Excellency Ivara Esu has assured residents of Calabar, the capital city of Cross River that Senator Professor Ben Ayade’s administration is poised to retain the state capital’s status as the cleanest and greenest in Nigeria. Professor Ivara Ejemot Esu gave the assurance when he personally went on an inspection of the Dumpsite in Calabar to ascertain the level of intervention work on the evacuation of refuse by the Waste Management Agency in the State capital this week.
He disclosed that the current challenge being faced in the evacuation of refuse will end this week and the State capital will return to its former glory of being the cleanest in Nigeria, stressing that the present administration under Senator Ayade will not allow the city to retrogress.

Professor Ivara Esu also revealed that his inspection of the various Dumpsite was to personally inspect the ongoing intervention work of evacuation by the waste management Agency, adding that the State government has already sourced money to pay the regular contractors who have already resumed work before the close of Monday, May 16, 2022.
The Deputy Governor lauded the waste management Agency for its prompt response to carry out intervention work to keep Calabar clean. Professor Esu visited various Dumpsites including Mbukpa market, Afokang, Jebbs Street, New Airport Road, Ekpo Abasi Street and Mayne Avenue, all in Local government Area and concluded with the inspection of the main Dumpsite at Lemna in Calabar Municipality where he was briefed on the issues confronting staff while carrying out their duties.
